ABOUT

I started a rocky folk band in 1980 and left after 13 years.That band carried on without me and only disbanded recently after 40 years! I took time out to raise the kids but carried on with the very occasional acoustic set locally. I just didn't have the time or the inclination to get involved in a band for the next 17 years. However, in 2010 I was asked to put a blues and classic rock band together for a charity gig in my local pub. So I called round to find who was up for it. I played bass on 3 or 4 songs but mostly rhythm guitar. That band went on for a couple of years before a couple of members moved out of the area. But I'd got the bug back and since then I have been in various adhoc combinations for specific gigs. In January 2020 I was asked to play bass more or less full time then lockdown stopped the project as sadly we lost the lead guitarist to Covid and another member has gone down with COPD. So, if you need a bass player and you have a rocky, bluesy set list, I might be your man. I can also play acoustic 6 and 12 string, rhythm and finger picking, a bit of 5 string banjo, mandolin.

Telecaster, Precision Bass, Ovation electro-acoustic, electro-acoustic ukulele, Trace Elliot bass amp, Fender guitar amp, Fender Passport Venue 10 channel, 600W portable PA, Larger PA with 2 x 400W EV speakers powered by Crown XL5082 amp with Soundcraft MFX 16 input mixer deck, Shure Beta 58 mic and stand, plus the usual box of cables and gadgets.
