SEEKINGBand to Join.
Available join a new or existing band as a sax player (tenor, baritone and soon adding an alto).
I have been playing sax on and off since the early seventies but more recently I have been mentored by Pete Canter and Ray Beavis which has taken my playing to an advanced or pro level.
I am a keen improviser and comfortable working out sax parts or arrangements for both covers or new material. I can sight read and tend to transcribe tunes (structure of song, chords and sax parts) so that I have everything readily available on my iPad.
Ideally I would like to join a gigging band rather than just linking up for occasional jams. I have my own transport and am happy to travel towards Plymouth, Torbay or Bristol for regular gigging or rehearsal and further afield for major gigs or recording.
Having been released from workplace restraints I am available to rehearse, record or gig most days or times.

Soul, jazz, funk, blues, rock 'n roll, etc. That said, I am up for anything that has room for a cool sax part! Love the sound of T-Bone Walker and stuff played by Jools Holland or The Rhythm Kings

I currently play a Yamaha YTS-875EB Custom tenor paired with a Jodi Jazz DV mouthpiece (gives a sound to die for!) and a Yanagisawa B992 baritone with a nice SR Technologies Pro mouthpiece. I will be adding an alto this summer and probably a soprano just for the hell of it - you cannot have too many sax's!
I can also adapt my sound to suit tunes that need a fuller sound by way of a Boss VE-20 Vocal Performer.
I also have a variety of instrument mics including a wireless DPA 4099 clip-on mic.
