Band to Join.

My name's Rob, I'm 34 and I'm a guitarist looking for a heavy alternative rock/metal band. Something melodic with an edge, driven by distorted riffs. I'm not really a shredder and not looking for anything metalcore, thrash or djent. I do like some bands in those genres but it's just not my thing to play. I'm not much of a shredder or big on playing very technical stuff. I'm quite old school in that sense.

I'm looking for something with a Deftones, Tool, A Perfect Circle kind of vibe in terms of heaviness. I wouldn't mind throwing a bit of progressive rock/metal in the mix as well - Pink Floyd, Opeth, Amplifier.

Ideally I'd prefer not to be the only guitarist as I feel like I work best off someone else rather than be in the spotlight, so I'm happy to join an already existing band or jam with another guitarist. I'm cool with playing rhythm or sharing some leads.

On top of the bands mentioned above I have a very wide range of influences. I'll put a few from various genres to give you an idea, but honestly I could fill up the whole page!

Nine Inch Nails, Faith No More, Sigur Ros, Muse, David Bowie, Placebo, Pearl Jam, Silverchair, Garbage, AFI, Slipknot, Killswitch, Jinjer, Soilwork, Deafheaven, Prodigy, 16 Volt

I know that's a pretty eclectic list, but I'm a fan of most genres and don't like to be too narrow minded.
