Looking for a bassist for a punk rock band formed during the first lockdown. We have been practicing once a week and writing remotely for the last year. If you can sing and can provide some vocals/backing vocals that's a bonus.
Bands we have similarities with are NoFX, The Offspring, Strung Out, Four Year Strong, Alkaline Trio. General tone is skate and political punk rock but we also stray into more pop punk and also some more hardcore stuff, usually with a melodic twist. We're pretty open to other genres and mixing genres but the above is the general type of things we sit under.
Currently we are two guitarists and a drummer who have been writing originals and rehearsing for around 4-5 months with a view to gigging around the Hastings to Brighton area. We'll probably do a mix of originals and covers to start and we have around 7-10 covers we've got down. We're now focussing on getting drums organised for original songs.
In terms of originals, we have about 4-5 songs nearly finished (with some drums) and a good 10+ more ideas or part songs to pull together when time. Bassist needs to have a reasonable ability but happy for you to grow and get better with the band. If you're not used to writing we are happy to cover that depending on the amount of ideas and experience you have. Recording and production experience is also a bonus.
We all work full time but are committed to working on the band with as much free time as we have available. We plan weekly meet-ups/rehearsal time.
Current members live around the Eastbourne-Golden Cross-Bexhill area and we have been rehearsing in Eastbourne, but open to other nearby locations.
