ABOUT

Peggy-Sue - the Singer, not the Song.

Music has always been a part of my life. With a name like mine, you had to.

I remember my parents always having Gold on the Radio, playing songs from the 50's, 60's and 70's. In fact, they still do.

When I was given my first record player (how retro does that sound), my first record (and yes, I mean Vinyl) was A-Ha's "Take On Me". I would play and sing this song all day, it drove my parents mad!!!

I eventually brought more records, and tapes (I always had the latest "Now" double cassette tape.) I used to record the Top 40, straight from the radio, to a cassette, just to play it over and over for the week, learning the songs (and dance moves), until CD's came out.

When I met my partner, they had to "put up" with me singing, it wasn't just in the shower.

It was when my partner began Transitioning, who went to singing lessons to make the pitch of their voice higher, into a female range, that I was "pushed" to go to the singing lessons as well. Since then, I haven't looked back.

I started off, by asking my friends if any of them played the guitar, and would like to pair up with me to sing.

Along came Gary Moore, a singer/songwriter, also from Swindon. We started performing together in January 2015, singing covers at Open Mic Night's at The Castle, Swindon.

I have also sang with Eddie Cook, another singer/songwriter, who now lives in Swindon but is from Manchester. We have done a few covers together, but we have also sang two songs that Eddie wrote.

Since that "FIRST stiff" performance, I have performed many Open Mic Nights at The Castle, as well as The Red Lion, Avebury, The Grange Bar, Stratton and The Crown, Aldbourne.

Whilst performing with Gary, we were invited to be the second act to perform a set at Swindon & Wiltshire Pride 2015. This was a brilliant event, that is very close to my heart.

I have also performed on stage in two shows, on behalf on the Kitty Langan Studio. In March 2015, I sang "Into The Open Air" from Disney's "Brave", in Disney Mania. And in April 2016, I sang "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac and "The One That Got Away" by Katy Perry, in Rockin' the Decades. As well as Christmas Concerts at a Residential Home in Swindon for two years running. In July 2017, with Kitty Langan Studios, I will be performing in another show "Around The World".

In August 2016, I also had the honour of singing Taylor Swift's song "Safe and Sound" at my best friend's wedding, as their first dance.
