ABOUT

Professional bass player from Darlington, England, with over 35 years of playing experience and 100s of live performances throughout the UK.

Im looking for a working band.3 gigs plus per month

I can tour at short notice I've been performing since the age of 15 and have played everything from clubs, pubs and theatres to weddings, festivals, corporate events and original music venues. During my career I've supported artists including Dodgy, cast, Freddie notes, The Specials and Dave Barker, and have performed with numerous original and cover bands across the North East.

I'm currently available for touring, session work, recording, dep work and permanent band positions. I learn material quickly, come fully prepared, and pride myself on being reliable, professional and easy to work with. Whether the job requires recreating recorded bass lines or bringing my own musical approach, my priority is always serving the song and supporting the band.

Although bass is my primary instrument, I also play guitar, piano and keyboards, with a solid understanding of music theory, song structure, arrangements and live performance. This allows me to communicate effectively in rehearsals and adapt quickly to new material.

MUSICAL STYLE

My playing is influenced by musicians such as Ernest Ranglin, Phil Lesh, Paul McCartney, Aston Barrett and James Jamerson, combining solid groove, tasteful fills and melodic bass lines. I'm comfortable across Rock, Classic Rock, Blues, Indie, Reggae, Alternative, Funk, Soul, Pop, Progressive and Country.

EQUIPMENT & AVAILABILITY

I use professional equipment including a a Fender Custom Jazz Bass, 1981 Fender Squier Precision Bass with original Fender components, and restored Peavey VI Bass XP Series Bass amplification with a 4×4 cabinet.

I have my own transport and hold a full current British passport, allowing me to travel for work throughout the UK and Europe.
