I've listed three genres plus "other" as that's the limit. "Other" includes alternative, blues, r&b, funk, folk, Celtic, country, bluegrass, rockabilly, rock n' roll. Rock includes most types of rock.
I sing and play electric guitar (lead and rhythm), acoustic guitar (pick and fingerstyle), harmonica (diatonic), bass and some keyboard.
Not put much time in on keyboard for a while so fairly basic at the moment. Would put time in if made sense for the songs/line-up.
Aiming to join a band or create a band or a duo or trio.
As far as a band is concerned, I don't have to be lead vocalist. If the band's right, I'm happy to contribute what works, whether that's lead vocals, backing vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, acoustic guitar, harmonica, bass guitar or whatever. I've noted above and elsewhere the instruments I play.
If I were lead vocalist then I'd be happy to also play rhythm guitar/acoustic and some lead as required but basically to play second guitar and work around a first guitarist and play lead guitar on occasion or not at all, whichever would be a better fit. And by lead guitar, I mean soloing, being the primary guitarist, etc. I'd expect rhythm/second guitarist duties to include plenty of single note and double stop work anyway. Essentially, I'm not precious about what guitar role I would play - whatever best suits the band and the music will work for me.
Happy to sing/play covers or originals. Would also like to collaborate on original material.
The distance I'm prepared to travel depends on the project.
I've uploaded examples of my singing against backing tracks - more to follow. All vocals recorded after 3/05/24. Acoustic guitar recorded 2023.
Please note that I've posted examples of my singing on here for various reasons and, as will be obvious, they are a mix of rock, pop and early pop and rock. They are not to be taken as defining the music I'd like to perform with a band or develop with other musicians. I'm fine if some of them ultimately become part of a set or sets or none of them do.
As I'm seeking musicians to perform live with, my vocals are a single line (not double or multitracked) and the only processes/effects I've applied to them are reverb and some very basic EQ - 2 parameters: hi and lo frequencies. And I've not used pitch correction or AI.
Also, I've mixed these songs to be listened to/auditioned at a decent headphones/speaker level.
Acoustic guitar track (final track) recorded in one take - slightly compressed for online presentation. No other effects or processes used.
I read standard notation, Nashville charts, lead sheets, tab, etc. and have a good understanding of music theory and principles of arranging.
