Sheffield-based band The Syndicate are looking for a bass player to complete our lineup (currently guitar, drums, keys/rhythm guitar, all 3 of us sing, and we've all been playing for around 15-20 years too, so although this is a new band, we're not beginners!).
We're into rock, acoustic, melodic stuff - no genre is off the table really (see https://youtu.be/7S4IU6qL5PQ for a recording of one of our rehearsals. Ignore the fact that there's bass on it, I added that myself after - everything else was done live on the day). We're looking at breaking the "classic rock" mould by doing different songs, songs in different genres, or different versions of songs - we've been working on a blues version of "Fight for your right to party" by the Beastie Boys, for instance...
We're not looking for a massive commitment here. Our aim is to do 1-2 gigs a month at most (we all have pretty time-consuming jobs so this is a bit of fun, although we still want to put out a quality product). These gigs will be around Sheffield too.
We'd prefer someone who has their own gear and transport, and is happy with jamming and our attempts to reimagine certain songs to play them totally differently. We'll not be expecting you to re-create the record version of a song (there might not be a recording to learn if we're rebooting a track!).
