ABOUT

Thank you for your interest in the Guitar & Bass Guitar vacancies in Eva’s Dream.

• Eva’s Dream’s Ethos & Public Image.
“Named after a short story by Anne Frank, Eva’s Dream have been entertaining listeners, near and far with their own unique brand of Poetic Pop for over 20 years now. Always sounding fresh and up for re-invention, if ever there was a band to open minds and bridge the generation gap it’s Eva’s Dream. Joni Mitchell once said that a good song should have something for the Head, something for the Heart and something for the Feet. Well if that’s the case then it’s a recipe Eva’s Dream has been cooking up for a while now. Tune in to the Eva’s Dream vibe Ladies and Gentleman, you’ll love it”.

• Eva’s Dream, a very brief History.
With the band existing as a concept for over 20 years, our longest period of line up stability was 2008 to 2013 but the band has essentially achieved something of a zenith in the last 2 years playing on average once a month with the majority of gigs resulting in offers from other events and venues as well as an open invitation to return to the venue in question. Our current vacancies have been necessitated by two members amicably moving on to other things.
• Eva’s Dream’s Aims.
Our intention is to play our original songs as well and as frequently as possible, and this means we mostly tend to play local charity events and “Minfests”. Such events are often unpaid. Eva’s Dream is not and almost certainly never will be aiming for superstardom.

• Eva’s Dream Sample Footage.
To get a flavour of what we do go to youtube and enter either “Eva’s Dream Jubilee Rocks 25 June 2016” or https://youtu.be/PsdXRonMtMw into your browser. While this is only a 20 minute set ( we easily have 40 minute set capability ) we think it gives a reasonable idea of how we appear and sound on stage. However, it might be worth noting that the opening song, although a strong number, might not have been the best choice of opener for the day in question. Stick with it all the way through the set and you’ll get a better idea of how things develop and even more exciting new material is currently in the pipeline.

• Eva’s Dream’s Rehearsal Schedule.
“Loungie” Practices in Saffron Walden, which can be up to weekly in frequency.
“Full Band” Rehearsals in Cambridge which can have as much as an every 3 weeks frequency.

• Eva’s Dream. A gentle word to the wise.

When recruiting, we do find a lot of respondents see the footage and tell us that while they think it’s great, it’s not exactly what they’re looking for in an originals band. As a musician of long and professional standing I would make the friendly suggestion that applicants consider the following. Most originals bands tend to be somewhat generically derivative and bands with such a strong spark of originality as Eva’s Dream, with our reputation for winning over audiences previously completely unaware of our work, are extremely rare. As musicians, we can all tend to be dreamers but you can have an awful long time for the exact band of your dreams to somehow magically track you down especially if you are not, as we have done, going to create that dream band yourself. As we say, perhaps a reality worth considering.

Please let us know what you think either way and please feel free to ask any questions.

Very best wishes.
