ABOUT

In my late 30s. Only a few years playing guitar and a few playing drums. 20 years ago did a music technology course so I have faded memories of setting up rigs.
I want to progress my talent but struggling to get better by myself, I think this next step is needed. You could argue this is just for fun but I’d make it commited fun :) I don’t judge anyone and with what limited knowledge I have I’d love to help beginners come out their shell but I’d also like to work with more experienced to bring myself on. I sang in a band during that music course, probably like a strangled cat but I enjoyed it all the same.
Used to DJ so I’m very used to lugging large equipment up dodgy flights of stairs for gigs but we don’t need to gig unless we get better.
My Mrs wants me out the house as my guitar is too noisy so if you have somewhere we could practice that would be fantastic, I am open to renting a studio for practice if that is practical.

Would love to find at least a drummer, an extra guitarist and a bassist but if you sing and play a different instrument you’re welcome to contact me as well :)

I’m very approachable.

Influences

Kurt Cobain, Graham Coxon (Blur), Bloc Party, Maccabees, Pink Floyd. I like my house music also, raging from funky to hard house. Personally I like to just muck about until a good riff emerges, love anything with big drums whacking you around the head that wants to make you dance, get in the moment and even euphoric. Conversely I love chilled-out break beats (think Adam F - Circles), trip-hop or something funky (love Angie Stone) so happy to experiment with finding a sound we like.
