Hello all. I'm Nial, I'm 21 and I've played drums for 8 years. The bassist, Simon (26), has been playing for almost 10 years. I originally joined him and a guitarist and we formed a band over a year ago. Since then the guitarist has left and Simon and I have been trying to look for someone to fit into what is quite a unique sound.
We both listen to a very wide range of music stretching from Grunge to R'n'B. Our sound is quite early nineties and is usually based around heavy Funk. Although we are able to sit back on something and cool it once in while; in a Prog Rock/Metal sense if you like, perhaps even Trip Hop. It's hard to put a label on it. We have increasingly got tighter and more in sync since we started jamming together. We're looking for someone to sit in the pocket and compliment what we already have. We're very much powered by groove and feel and we rely on improvisation to write music.
We'd like to stay in the age range of 18-30. We need someone who's willing to commit and put the work in as we're very ambitious people. We both have day jobs but these aren't seen as our careers, music is IT basically (no plan b). Your own transport and backline is a must. Not so much an issue for singers as PA is quite a lot to ask. We do have these kind of resources when they're required though.
