Looking for lgbtiqa+ friendly musicians all ages/genders to play and create music
I'd would like to find a songwriter and musicians to start a band with, a fun project and something a little different. Less conventional in that I'd especially like this to be a band made up of all different ages (18-80!).
A mish-mash of experimental/dream pop/hynotic/neo-psychedelia/alt-rock but open to suggestions or just see where it takes us.
A bit about me:
I’m a bass player (rusty intermediate) looking for a diverse mix of creative folk to play with. Have only been in a v casual band (no gigging) playing covers but would now like to do something unique.
Open to genres and instrument possibilities (percussion, guitar, keys, strings, brass, to guitar, woodwind and/or keys). This could be purely instrumental or with vocals/harmonies.
Rock, metal and indie is generally most of what I see on these platforms, so looking for people who like less standard genres, as well as wanting those wanting to play with people of all ages.
Don't want limit the scope of people messaging, but I like a good mix of music, including uplifting bouncy rhythms like Sacred Paws, Frànçois & The Atlas Mountains, Superorganism, Shopping, Go! Team, E.S.G, to heavier stuff like Baby in Vain, DIIV, Mika Miko, Jesus & His Judgemental Father, Erase Errata, Screaming Females, Wytches, and a love of the more melodic/ moody/ hypnotic such as Warpaint, Youth Lagoon, Angel Olsen, Efterklang, Sufjan Stevens, Lower Dens, Hand Habits, Electrelane, Stereolab, and the indie-folk rock of BigThief, Courtney Barnett, Ezra Furman, Kurt Vile.
This could start as a casual project online, until there's enough people to create something in-person in a rehearsal room or appropriate space.
