With two kids and a wife who have time-consuming hobbies, I find myself limited regular free nights to play, and that is kippering many opportunities to do a band.

So I'm looking for people to play with who are sympathetic to the restrictions of the modern 40-something father with sensible job, who play any instrument but are prepared to be inventive in order to get something original and performable together without waiting for a drummer (as they're thin on the ground), who like their avant garde Swedish acoustic jazzprog* even if they can't play it, and who are up for a regular Monday or Tuesday night practice with gigs as and when.

Me = guitar and bass (yawn), with dabbles in concertina and soprano sax. Well, I own them even if I can't play them.

Bands I like = Talk Talk, Tortoise, Bed, Savoy Grand, Bill Frisell, King Crimson, Herbie Hancock, GSYBE, John McLaughlin, Radiohead, Brad Mehldau, Punch Brothers, Miles Davis, Lau, North Sea Orchestra, Garsed/Helmerich, Feist, Van Morrison, Tony Rice, Tin Hat Trio, Porcupine Tree, Oscar Peterson, Tool, Peter Gabriel, all sorts of everything. I'll own up to Marillion too.
