Holly DayAs one of my biggest influences, Buddy Holly is kinda special to me, his were the first songs I mastered when learning to play the guitar. When I was young I did listen to those Rock n Roll records like I say in the song. Sat in the spare bedroom with an old record player watching the 45’s drop down onto the deck and the needle jump in and out. This song is imagining what it would have been like to be in a Buddy Holly and The Crickets tribute band. Having such a great time turned everyday into a Holly Day. HOLLY DAY When I was young, I played my rock ’n’ roll records I loved them all but only one struck a chord I fronted a band that long hot summer That same summer that I met your momma Hey Hey / Ho Ho / Hey Hey Those ballrooms so friendly and warm Just like Buddy Holly we used to perform The fake Crickets going down a storm Words of love, Oh Boy! and Rave On Everyday was a Holly Day Everyday was a Holly Day And everybody loved Buddy’s True Loves Ways And everyday was a Holly Day Hey Hey / Ho Ho / Hey Hey The band, Cindy Lou and me in the car My daddy bought me a Stratocaster guitar I’d wear horn rimmed glasses wherever we’d go We’d tear it up putting on a rock ’n’ roll show Everyday was a Holly Day Everyday was a Holly Day And everybody loved Buddy’s True Loves Ways And everyday was a Holly Day Hey Hey / Ho Ho / Hey Hey Just you know why was so important to me I loved that music, It’s So Easy Every night playing the understudy Worshiping my hero the real Buddy I always took great pride Making sure the music never died Knowing it’s not going to Fade Away It Doesn’t Matter Anymore, That’ll Be The Day Everyday was a Holly Day Everyday was a Holly Day And everybody loved Buddy’s True Loves Ways And everyday was a Holly Day Hey Hey / Ho Ho / Hey Hey And everyday was a Holly Day
SnapSNAP! Verse 1. I always thought I was kinda chilled But now I realise how we’re both built So alike, suddenly we’re in a scrap One wrong word and Snap Verse 2. Snap judgements. Snap decisions We snap, crackle and pop, just like those cereals Feels like this is just a stop gap Everyday the tension comes gift wrapped Chorus. Your as highly sprung as a rusty trap I’m as cold as a frosty beer tap Takes two angry clouds to make a thunder clap I hold out the olive branch. Snap! We’re the same. Snap x2 Verse 3. I get moody. Snap out of it You get nasty, just want a shout about it One and the same, duplicate Equal measures of love and hate Chorus. You Snap. x4 Bridge. Verse 4. Anything I say I’m talking crap You expect it all to fall in your lap Everything I do you take as hostile Your as snappy as a crocodile Chorus. You Snap. x6 We’re the same We SNAP!

2into21Sat on the train going to work one day, just looking out the window day dreaming. I saw an engraving in a railway track say 2>21. It made me think that 2 into 21 doesn't go, make 21 someone's house number and add a couple, hear what happened! 2 INTO 21 You talked me into buying a home Somewhere we shut the door and be on our own We choose the place and we did the move The big commitment what’s it going to prove And the door number was number 21 What the hell have we done, hon? Two into 21 don’t go Two into 21, no, no, no, no Our own space for us to argue 21 ain’t the place for us two Your friends are here all night and day And you don’t lift a finger to pay your way The door number was number 21 What the hell have we done, hon? Two into 21 don’t go Two into 21, no, no, no, no You only want get away from your folks Forget to tell me about all those other blokes Your little plan was way to crafty Our home baby is just to draughty I must have been fed faulty data I should have used a calculator Two into 21 can’t be done I must have been fed faulty data I should have used a calculator Two into 21 just can’t be done Two into 21 Two into 21 Two into 21 Two into 21 You never told me that you snore Sort of thing you just don’t know before Two plus one it makes three That’s you, your friends and little old me And the door number was number 21 What the hell have we done, hon? Two into 21 don’t go Two into 21, no, no, no, no Two into 21 Never can be done
Until I Kissed You
Until I Kissed YouHe couldn't figure out why she was holding back, then a quick kiss later it all became clear
Mor-e-ahAround the time I started writing songs my family and friends used to use an old Irish saying, ‘moryah’. We used this in conversation as a slang term for when we wanted to express something was made up, pretend or if we doubted the truth of something. The fact my band didn't really exist (and still doesn't) I thought I could use a bad spelling of this word as my band name. This has changed over the years to me using it as the name I write songs under. I then wrote this song about a girl who wanted to tease her boyfriend to test how much he really loves her. Was she just pretending to love him, he had his doubts. MOR-E-AH Your love for him was mor-e-ah I thought I'd finally gone to far You laughed at me, told me not to cry You’s only testing our love... why? And my heart told me you were no love cheater Even so my heart on the edge did teeter But you came home at last Said we’re gonna make the past the past We’re gonna make the past the past Mor-e-ah Mor-e-ah Spent all night in some seedy bar Trying to drink away the mor-e-ah And across the room you appear My doubts and fears all disappear My doubts and fears all disappear Mor-e-ah Mor-e-ah I shouldn’t have cried, I knew better I’d even sat myself down and written my goodbye letter My emotional baggage in the boot of the car Thank god, his love for you was only mor-e-ah And as the tears fell on the nightly star I couldn’t tell real life from the mor-e-ah To have you back I thank god above No more forever mor-e-ah love No more forever mor-e-ah love Love, mor-e-ah Love, love, mor-e-ah

There's A Girl On The Train
There's A Girl On The TrainI used to see the same girl on the train to London everyday, she looked like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She was beautiful, but I was a geeky songwriter with my walkman on and notebook. What was I going to do? (This was years before the book and movie with the same name came out.) THERE'S A GIRL ON THE TRAIN Every morning its the same I rush to the station to catch that train Cause I love her / Cause I love her It amazes me it must be fate In though the door walks my dream date And I love her / I love her Days and weeks every morning and night I want to get to know her, just hold her tight Cause I love her / Cause I love her There’s a girl on the train I don’t know her name But I love her I love her Can’t wait for Monday just to see her again Rush to the platform, sunshine or rain Cause I love her / Cause I love her Tuesday, oh no, she’s sat at my side How my gonna talk to her I need some kind of guide And I love her / I love her Gonna talk to her Wednesday, gonna say hello What if she blanks me only one way to know Cause I love her / Cause I love her There’s a girl on the train I don’t know her name But I love her I love her I arrive at the station, with great anticipation Just to see you waiting, hesitating Hope our love ain’t off the tracks Playing my loving, my brain you tax And I’m pounding along I’m scraping the rails I’m nervous, pathetic I’m chewing my nails The ticket inspector says tickets please I say one way to heaven with that girl there the tease Cause I love her / I love her There’s a girl on the train I don’t know her name But I love her I love her I wrote her a letter, as my love is unknown She’s missing on Thursday my hearts like a stone I love her / I love her Talk to her quickly, forever you’ll seek It’s Fridays today that's end of the week And you love her / You love her I’ll try to forget her, make a new start I ain’t got a chance, she written into my heart I said I love her / I love her She’s my girl on train I don’t know her name But I love her I love her I heard her she’s leaving, no train no more Now come on its over, pick yourself off the floor It’s all over / It’s all over The doors are opening, she’s heading off home I’ve blown it, I’m desperate I’m left all alone Alone / Alone But hey, though the window, a note floats in Please call me, her phone number, her love I can win Cause she loves me / She loves me / She loves me There’s a girl on the train Now I know her name And she loves me
