Wanted: Drummer and Bass Player for Blues/Blues Rock Band
MooMooPappa was a Blues & Blues Rock band that played pubs, clubs, and festivals in Australia for about ten years. Since returning five years ago, I've played in another band, but they have gone in a different direction, so now I'm looking to revive MMP with new members if anyone is interested.
I'm seeking a drummer and bass player who are genuinely into this style, not just adaptable musicians. Check out audio and video at www.reverbnation/moomoompappa. I can email a couple of examples of setlists/songs, but I’m always happy to add new ones.
Looking for people to be part of the band who can take equal responsibility for getting gigs and running things.
I'm not in this for the money or a full-time gig. I do expect to be paid, but blues gigs are hard to come by, so I always want to be competitive. While I am always interested in collaborating with other musicians like the keys or harmonica, it can be tricky to make that work in pubs, but I’m happy to have a chat about it.
• Influences: Think B.B. King, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Rory Gallagher, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, etc.
• Goals: Perform at local venues a couple of times a month and get into blues festivals. Blues gigs can be hard to come by, so any connections would be an advantage!
Looking For:
• Drummer: Must have experience with blues and blues rock, solid timing, and the ability to add creative flair to our sound.
• Bass Player: Should have a strong sense of rhythm, ability to lock in with the drummer, and a passion for blues grooves.
Requirements:
• Experienced musicians with a sense of humour.
• Commitment to regular rehearsals until up to speed and gigs.
• Own equipment and reliable transportation.
• Ability to take the music seriously, but not ourselves. It's got to be fun.
