Hi, I am a guitarist, songwriter and performer. I’ve just moved to West London and am starting an exciting new band playing original material.

I am looking for a career based vocalist with plenty of energy and who is open to learning written songs as well as collaborating on new material. Style wise I’m keen to focus on Funk, Jazz, Latin and Cuban.

Major influences include: Maceo Parker, Jamiroquai, The Egg, New Mastersounds, Brand new heavies, Soil and Pimp, Cat Empire and Joyce Cooling.

I’m aiming for our sound to be a cross between Cat Empire and the Egg, i.e. highly danceable vocal lead songs supported by lush vocal harmonies and underpinned by a solid and fat rhythm section.

The plan for the first 2 months is relatively straightforward;

1) Record a 4 track demo EP to pitch to venues and relevant record companies.
2) Shoot a simple but effective video of our band playing in a quirky setting.
3) Publish our website showing high quality pics & vids, show dates and biogs.
4) Work on approx. ten songs to form the basis for the first album.

In terms of practice time, we would need to block out a minimum of a day and at least one evening a week. This may seem a lot, although in my experience, you get out what you put in. (there are no businesses I know of which were successfully started through an evening’s work a week!)
The main investment for this project will be time, not just practicing or recording, but also promoting our band independently of our practice time. Deciding these logistics will be something we can discuss at band meetings.

As you’ve likely gathered, this is an opportunity best suited to a singer who is driven by the desire to continue leading a busy and fulfilling career, eventually travelling the world in a band playing at major festivals and venues!
