Lead Guitar.ABOUT
A few months ago we lost our lovely guitarist, and we're looking for a replacement so we can get gigging again. Ideally we need someone who:
• Is into the concept (see description below)
• Wants to commit to a weekly (or almost weekly) practice in BS4
• Push themselves to play at a high standard
• Build up to playing 1-2 good, paid gigs a month (not immediately - we have a setlist of 30 songs for you to learn first!)
We're singer/keys, bass, drums. There's one spot for a guitarist!
Bit of further info…
We created the band in 2025 from a shared love of noughties bangers spanning all genres - from pop to r&b, indie and rock. We wanted to build a band around the kind of songs that tend to hit hardest at venues, but not the old classics we've all heard too many times at weddings - more the kind of stuff that was big when people our age (30s) were in school. We do some straight covers, but we also love arranging stuff to keep it interesting, so there's also lots of mash-ups and reworks (e.g. a UKG version of Linkin Park's Numb). We love perfecting our own versions and really paying attention to the details. It's easily the most fun I've had in a band.
To set expectations, we tend to learn a new song each week (ish), and will work on new ones for a few weeks until we're happy with them. A lot of the work is done outside of the group, we all enjoy taking things away and bringing our own ideas to the practice.
We're all experienced musicians and were gigging last year. The current set is 1.5 - 2 hours. We're looking for someone who can learn most of that, but with freedom to write their own parts, make suggestions on what we could drop, and bring some new ones into the mix.
We're looking to build up to playing a couple of good gigs every month rather than slogging it every weekend, but the idea is to take on bigger bookings like weddings etc. We have a 2027 wedding booking waiting, which was a request we got off the back of our first live show - we just need a guitarist in order to say yes.
We all get along really well and enjoy the social side of things, too. If your preference is for a band where you turn up once a month just to play, it might not be a great fit. It's a super fun project for someone who likes the sound of the project, has the time to make it work and wants to play to a good standard.
If you're interested, tell us a bit about yourself, send some clips of you playing, and let's take it from there!
