ABOUT

Hi I'm Meg,
I hail from Ottawa, Canada and I am looking to form a band in the folk-rock genre, anything goes really. I have recently moved here to pursue music professionally and I've been really inspired by the musicians coming out of West London in the last few years, namely Mumford and Sons & Laura Marling.
I just finished singing and playing fiddle on a year long world tour with the National Dance Company of Ireland.
I'd like to meet some musicians, write some tunes and form a group that would be serious about touring in the near future.

I have been classically trained, but I switched to fiddle about 7 years ago, I'm a Scottish/Irish/Cape Breton fiddle player but I can improvise in any key - I have been playing for 15 years and have experience in Canada Ireland and Scotland. I have performed at several folk festivals in Canada including the Ottawa Folk Festival and the Blue Skies Festival. I have recorded on several albums, a Juno nominated one as well! I have also sung alongside Juno Award Winning artist, Serena Ryder.

So if you like to sing in harmony, and enjoy the sound of a fiddle, give me a shout! Or say Hi anyway, I'm new here so meeting new friends is always great! Also don't hesitate to contact me even if you're in Ireland, Scotland or outside of London/elsewhere in the UK. I'd be delighted to hear from you. I am very flexible in regard to touring and gigging.
