SundaySunny afternoons and the smell of cut grass, pealing laughter and the taste of ice lollies, dancing through fields with a graceful innocence only a child can carry - this is the nostalgia Sunday brings. There's a video of me playing this here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrR-Cuyrafw
Primrose Path (for piano trio)
Primrose Path (for piano trio)I originally started composing this piece for piano, cello and violin before orchestrating it, so thought I'd share it anyway. Find the full version here: https://soundcloud.com/megancunnington/primrose-path

Dream of Home
Dream of HomeA lullaby for female voices in four parts, Dream of Home is inspired by a scene from the film Titanic, where a mother tucks her young children into bed as the ship is sinking, telling them stories as they drift off to sleep. In the lullaby she tells her children not to be afraid of what is coming but to "dream of home", and that she will find them there when they wake. Lyrics: Sleep soundly my child And dream, dream of home, Let all thoughts of your pain Disappear from your mind. And dream of home, dream of home, Think not of what comes your way. Sleep soundly my child, do not fear, I am here. Let the steady waves rock you to sleep, Do not weep, For when darkness comes You’ll be lost in your dreams. So dream of home, dream of home, The darkness can’t reach you there. Winds thunder and roar far away But here you are safe. I’ll keep you from harm, You are safe in my arms, I’ll stay and watch as your eyes Flutter closed one last time. Now dream of home, dream of home, I’ll find you there when you wake, So sleep soundly my child, do not fear, I am here, I am here.
