Maya was born in Gabon in December 1976 from Italian father and Thai mother.
She studied singing at Trinity College of Music in London with distinguished soprano Ms. Wendy Eathorne and vocal coach Mr. Geoffrey Pratley. She has attended several Master Classes and performed with some renowned musicians such as tenor John Wakefield, pianists and vocal coaches Marcello Abbado, Rodger Vignoles, Eugine Asty, Helen York, Yonty Solomon, Rudolf Jansen, cellist Richard Markson and harpist Gabriella Dall’Olio.

Maya is an experienced singer whose talent and exotic voice made her appear as a soloist in many concerts and recitals both in England, Europe and Africa. She has also inspired Persian composer A. M. Tafreshipour, amongst other authors, to compose for her.
In July 2005 she has won the Most Distinguished Musician Prize at the Ibla Grand Prize 2005 in Ragusa, Italy. Maya also studied improvisation and was awarded with the First Prize of the 2005 Gladys Puttick Memorial Prize for Extemporisation in London for being a fervid, dynamic and original improviser.
Maya is known for being particularly versatile during her performances where she also displays her charming abilities as an actress. She always performs in various languages and in a wide range of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, from opera to musicals and folk music, as well as being a songwriter.

She has performed for the Italian Embassy in Tanzania in a Christmas charity concert to raise money for international NGO CEFA and for the Italian Cultural Institutes in London, Lisbon and Nairobi. Maya has completed a fulltime internship programme as an assistant in the Artist Management department at Intermusica Artists’ Management Ltd. in London (2006). She now continues to perform in solo recitals in UK and abroad with her pianist Aleksander Szram as well as carrying out her improvisation and contemporary music projects.

Maya has recently completed a fulltime Singing Course on Staged Opera Scenes in Tarazona, Spain, where she worked with music director Stefan Paul Sanchez and Emmanuel Siffert, principal conductor of the European Chamber Opera.
