Lead guitarist and vocalist - new to the area and looking to meet local musicians for jams and gigs in Southend.
I have mostly played in alternative/punk type bands. My music tastes have become more rootsy now but I still want to retain a more "alternative" feel and punky edge.
I'm looking either to play lead guitar in an electric blues band, or to do some fast and punky acoustic bluegrass (or both). I'd ideally like to team up with a good lead vocalist for songwriting.
I currently play a lot of standards but I have a few songs of my own. I like quite a dark mood in music generally speaking - I don't write much that isn't in a minor key.

I particularly like thrashgrass at the moment. Bands like 357 String Band and Trampled by Turtles
My lead guitar playing is quite smooth and bluesy - in a similar style to Muddy Waters or BB King. I do still like to play the odd bit of Randy Rhodes though ;)
EQUIPMENT
For electric stuff I use my Gibson Les Paul and Orange Tiny Terror - I am a good soloist and I love to improvise.
I use my Taylor acoustic for bluegrass and folk.
