SEEKING
Band to Join, Vocalist, Vocalist - Bass, Vocalist - Baritone, Vocalist - Tenor, Vocalist - Soprano, Vocalist - Alto.ABOUT
Hi there.
I’m looking for a collaborator to write and record original material. I’m a songwriting multi-instrumentalist but I struggle with lyrics and I’d rather not listen to my own singing. So if you can hold a tune, write a lyric and have a home recording setup to be able to work remotely, I’d love to hear from you.
My default songwriting is in the realm of Crowded House, Squeeze, and Death Cab for Cutie. But I like to try new stuff and I’ve produced stuff in a ton of styles, from electro-rock to prog to folk to pop to French chanson to country to jazz. I have a load of half finished demos, some with a few lyrics, some with none, all without a decent voice. I also enjoy writing from scratch to a given lyric.
Online collaboration is an obvious preference given the current situation but also reflects the fact that I have a busy work and home life and am just doing this for fun. But hey, if there’s a chance for an #IRL component at some point, or just a beer, so much the better!

Influences
Mostly pop-rock. A child of the 80s, so a lot of pop from that era, plus Bowie, Death Cab for Cutie, Squeeze, Costello, Radiohead, Crowded House. More Beatles than Stones. More Blur than Oasis. Current bands I admire include Twenty One Pilots, The Wombats and Declan McKenna. Also love a bit of folk along the lines of Simon & Garfunkel, and a bit of prog (Genesis, Marillion).
