Mat ' ZUKI' Scarll is a drummer from the republic of Yorkshire, currently residing in South Wales. Mat started on piano first before realising hitting things with sticks is far more interesting and after much nagging, his parents gave in and bought him a mighty Premier Resonator kit from the 70's. This allowed Mat to cut his teeth and crack his parents dining room ceiling before upgrading to Sabian AAX cymbals,Pearl Millenium EXR ltd edition kit and the defiling of alesis,zoom and emu modules with DDRUM triggers. All the electronics in the mid 90's was pretty ahead of its time on the club/pub circuit and after recording and playing with a bluesy rock originals band He moved into the realms of industrial nu-metal hooked up to Akai samplers and click tracks. The main part of his drumming life came from the band Dogzuki who toured with lots of 1st gen punk bands and Funeral for a friend, before releasing their first album 'Mind The Gap' available everywhere and can be heard on Spotify. Now Mat defiles more electronics by going completely a-e drums style.This allows for clearer onstage sound and versatility in sounds and volume control.

EQUIPMENT

A2E conversion of sorts!! X2 pearl toms 12" and 13" with 22" kick drum all mesh heads. Millenium snare with original trigger removed. All triggered by ddrum triggers hooked up to td6v vexed with elite download and akai mpx8 with superior drummer samples for snare, main crash and china. Snare is 4 snares (x2 on roland and 2 on the akai) triggered at once to sound full and fat. x3 roland cy8's for hats,ride and crash, surge cymbals for main crash and china. Yamaha tp100 side snare dual zone. Been gigging the latest setup as it is now a few months with no issues.great to play and sounds great through the peavey hysys 12" speakers i use with powered mixer. Sennheiser ie4 monitors through a cheap pulse line mixer for click track and monitoring live and also for playing along with music in the house. Practicing under a picture of the mighty Dave Grohl!!!
