Full time musician in two established bands -
An original music project established on the UK and Euro Blues Rock Scene. Signed to a label.
An established covers project that plays locally to top up the diary and earn an extra wage.
Both projects are 3 piece and I’m looking for a new bass player with a high level of both playing standard and commitment to join us on this journey.
Original music has a strong sense of groove, but includes lots of improv too. Style is Blues/Rock, Fusion, Funk/Soul, Rock, even a touch of jazz. Influenced by artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Robben Ford, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Doyle Bramhall II, Johnny Guitar Watson etc etc
Covers project is an eclectic band that does not play your usual ‘pub/club’ set. We stick to cool 60’s 70’s rock - The Who, Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan etc but also again it’s not note for note - we stretch out when we can and are known for being ‘different’. Big set of 60 or so songs that also means we can work anywhere. This outfit is designed to keep the money flowing in during downtime from touring.
As a bassist we would like it if you -
Can play to a high standard, improvise but also know where the pocket is.
Can sing some backing vocals.
Can commit to playing loads of gigs. Touring and local. So that means it would not suit someone who had a busy day job. Touring can be in the week, covers are weekends. You could have a flexible work situation or a part time job but it wouldn’t be for you if you could not commit to all the work we have.
Can be easy to work with and be on the road with. We all get stressed but we must row together - if you don’t like travelling/long journeys/waiting around then it’s not for you.
We are looking for a bass player whose whole world is the bass guitar. Someone who lives and breathes music, and is open minded to all genres. Someone who has a strong image too - you will be filmed and photographed a lot so you must ‘know your own look’ what ever that may be.
Good, reliable equipment is also essential.
