ABOUT

Interested in new creative projects (contact info below). Ideally writing and recording original material and performing some live shows. I'm in a gigging and recording band already (Anything But Francis) and we play a few shows a year. So I have good availability for bands or projects, although I'm not looking to gig every weekend.

I have a broad taste in music but I'm primarily into alt rock, pop, indie, folk, americana, country, acoustic singer songwriters and motown/soul.

I'm currently leaning towards acoustic, americana, indie and alt rock with original material ready to work on. I'm also keen to collaborate on other musicians' songs and to develop material together.

I am easy going, reliable, a quick learner and good collaborator with my own transport and decent equipment. I mainly play guitar and bass, plus electric drums and keys for song writing purposes, so would enjoy mixing things around where it's a viable option. I'm a solid musician, although not a virtuoso or shredder and prefer to put the songs first. I'm happy to perform some unusual, fun or creative covers, but not too interested in covering the really overplayed staples (unless doing something different with them).

I've played with bands at many gigs over the years at pubs, clubs, functions, festivals and weddings (including one at the National Marine Aquarium shown in my shark photo!).I've stood in to help other acts at short notice a few times too. We also had a few live tracks featured on local radio and TV as Anything But Francis.

My musical experiences have largely involved performing original material, writing my own instrumental parts and contributing new songs and ideas, but I also played with a covers band for 6 years and our setlists spanned a good range of genres. I have also enjoyed lots of experience recording many tracks in both professional and home studios over the years.
