ABOUT

Hi, my name's Luke, I am a student at the University of Bristol studying maths. I am engaged in as many music events here as I can be. I regularly go to jams at the Old England on a Tuesday night and at Mr Wolf's on a Wednesday night, along with some other ones scattered about the city. I've been playing the piano since I was 4, however I haven't been able to bring a keyboard with me to university and so I haven't been able to practice much. I've been playing live music for over 4 years in various different bands, mainly as a guitarist switching between rhythm and lead, I've played piano and sung live, however I do this less frequently. At jam sessions, I tend to mainly play the drums (however, this is not my strong suit). I'm really keen to join a band and play live music, whilst the jams are cool, it's not the same as being in a band, I'm really eager and willing to learn and adapt to different styles of music. I can supply my own amp, pedal board and guitars for gigs. I looking forward to hearing from/meeting you!

Influences

My favourite band is Radiohead (very unique, I know), some close second and thirds are Muse, Wunderhorse, Black Midi, Steely Dan, Geese, Black Country New Road and a fair few more. I think naturally I've taken influence from a lot of these in different forms and have tried to create a somewhat unique sound. I'd love to play this style of alternative rock/rock and loads of other stuff from the 60s-90s too. Bands such as Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, literally anything Britpop, and so many more (there are too many to name).

EQUIPMENT

Boss Katana-50 MK II, rigged pedal board with: Crybaby Wah, Nobels ODR-1 Natural Overdrive, Spark Tc Electronic Boost, Fender Mirror Image Delay, Boss CH-1 Super Chorus and Boss RV-6 Reverb. I know that explanation was a bit overkill, but I figured I'd go into detail. I also have a Fender American Pro II Dark Night Stratocaster and a double hum bucker Squire telecaster. All of these can be supplied for gigs.
