Hello.
I am the singer in a band based in Newcastle. We are currently seeking a new bassist to complete our lineup.
We play all of our own songs and have several songs written. The songs are very good and we are now in a position to really make a go of things.
We have a very specific idea in mind for the type of band we want to be. We feel the current music scene is pretty dire and boring and so are looking to inject it with some much needed fun. Our music is upbeat, short rock n roll influenced by The Stones, The Sonics, ACDC, Oasis etc.
What we are looking for:
- Ability. We are looking to be successful so need people who know their instruments and can play to a good to high standard. If you can write music (which is good) this is a bonus. If you can play other instruments, this is also a bonus. As our songs are blues-y rock n roll, knowledge of the blues scale is preferable.
- Drive and commitment .We practice twice a week and have already had to cut several members loose due to their inability/refusal to practice more than once. We do not want somebody who will treat this as a hobby as we feel that attitude gets you nowhere. We need people who will be enthusiastic and make a genuine effort in their own time to learn the songs as well as make efforts to improve their own abilities.
- People with experience are preferred. Somewhere between 24-33.
We do not have a demo at the minute but will be looking to get one cut ASAP.
