For his final module at Falmouth University Lewis embarked on a musical director position that was to be assessed, his assessor wrote:

“Your ability to multi-task is extremely impressive: not only did you perform with vigour, accuracy and commitment, but you also conducted, directed, prompted, gave encouragement and on-the-spot feedback to your band, sculpted the improvisations, handled the click tracks and other technology, kept a watchful eye on the stage for cues and made split-second decisions if at any point something went wrong or you lost your count. Throughout all of this, you remained calm, enthusiastic and ultra-professional. Furthermore, we can deduce from your tutorials, your pro-forma and from the evidence on film that you thoroughly trained the performers to learn their parts.

Lewis, this is exceptional work, and by all accounts you are more than ready to take up this kind of work at professional level.”
