WraithAn instrumental song I wrote a while ago which has a bit of a dark feel to it. I like how it changes in the middle and goes for a heavy bluesey southern rock feel and then slowly changes to a more what I think has a bit of a baroque feel to it somehow. Ok maybe im just waffling on but hey ho I hope you enjoy it :)
Drunk Again (featuring Doug Shaw)
Drunk Again (featuring Doug Shaw)This song was wrote with Wayne Hughes and it was a bit of fun about drinking too much and the fun and mishaps you get into when you are 3 sheets to the wind!.. Well we wrote it and for a bit more fun I asked a freind of mine (Doug Shaw pictured) over in Nashvile to do a radio style voice over, I gave him a rough idea on what I was after and gave him free reign to do what he wanted. This is the result of his excellent efforts. Unfortunately Doug died a couple of years ago, not long after doing this so I dedicate this to him. He was one of the good guys!
SunlightThis is a song I wrote with Wayne Hughes, he wrote the lyrics and sang the lead vocal. I did the rest. Wayne thought it was one of the best songs we wrote together, however I don't agree lol, infact I would go as far to say its one of the worst. But hey who says you have to enjoy what you write, I know theres a few people out there who do like this song and so long as one person enjoys it then I am happy, I hope you like it too but if you don't it's ok because neither do I. Oh I like the solo on it, and the sound I got for the solo :) Ok so maybe I like it a little but not that much...
Livin TogetherThis is a nice uplifting pop rock track I put together and I keep meaning to get some vocals down on it. I think it would do quite well. I do like the canon effect between the keys and the guitar just before the solo and I do really like the solo on this too.
Pagan SonThis is another track which just developed from playing with some of the motion sounds on my beloved Korg M50. Most of the lead guitar work was just improvisational apart from a few key moments here and there. I like the stereo effect on the delay of the guitar lead on the intro.
In My Backyard
In My BackyardThis is one of my favourite songs I have ever written, I like how it builds, falls and has that jammy feel which reminds me of Pink Floyd, I would actually love to play this live someday. I have tried laying vocals over this but I think it’s just perfect as is.
Gritty SymphonyA track I recorded a while ago, the name came from the underlying thick orchestral chords I used behind the main theme. The theme plays the same notes in a sequence whilst the chord pattern underneath changes slightly.
Going AloneProggy guitar based rock based around a few ideas I had at the time. I quite like the guitar tones and the dirty opening guitar especially.
Cuando El Diablo
Cuando El DiabloA bit of a departure for me, at the time I wrote and recorded this I had just bought a new guitar (PRS Torero) and this was one of the first things I recorded with it and due to the name of the guitar, the Carlos Santana influence kinda just developed and I liked how it sounded and the groove of it. Recently I re-recorded the drums and they sound a lot more punchy now and I think I would like to add a little more latin percusion but alas percusion really isn't my forte. Enjoy.
Before The Storm
Before The StormThis is a little ditty I wrote ages ago, I just like its simple sound and I could have really spent more time by doing a better take, but I like the fact its rough, slighty distorted and well sonically or performance wise not perfect so to speak.
ToccataI decided to have a go at recreating an absolute favourite track of mine, Toccata by Sky, this track inspired me a lot when I was a kid and amazed the hell out of me and I wanted to be able to make music like this. So after years of playing and recording I finaly ended up having a bash at it :)
