26 Jazz Air V5
26 Jazz Air V5I think this sounds like a trow-back from the 60's - very much what your mum/dad or even gran/grandad might have listened to on the BBC Light Programme over their wind-up radio (sorry "wireless set").

28 Romany Caravan V3
28 Romany Caravan V3A bit of a sad ballad this with plenty of strings and horns.

29 Fiddly - Diddley
29 Fiddly - DiddleyOK - this is not a serious piece, but oh what a hoot I had making it! The title gives it away really - except there's a bit of Russian cossack dancing in the middle, just to break it up. Warning: You will get this tune stuck in your head - sorry!

30 Leeds Cathedral V5
30 Leeds Cathedral V5So this actually started life as a guitar number. i felt it wasn't working without some sustain, so went over to the safety of the organ, where the harmonies and chord progressions worked so much better. Had some fun bringing in the 16 and 32 foot pipes. There's more than enough reverb too!

31 Falling 2019
31 Falling 2019Aha - here's a remake of a tune I wrote for my daughter Emma one Christmas many many years ago... Used GarageBand for this version as it was a simple midi import (originally created in Cakewalk on PC) then selected new instruments and did a remix. The brief was "no drums" btw.

32 Notre Dame V1
32 Notre Dame V1It was so sad to see Notre Damme Cathedral burn. I had half written this when I saw it on the news and just though the title was right.

33 Crispy Melt V6
33 Crispy Melt V6Pretty laid-back track with some serious brass sections to clear out the cobwebs. Tried to add a bit of light and shade with oboes and clarinets over a solid rock backing.

34 Long Rock V3
34 Long Rock V3Quite orchestral this. Had a lot of fun putting in little counter-melodies and fiddly bits. Builds well and quite percussive (punchy bits are actually tapped in on the keys). Also a bit crossover with some solid rock drums. Another one to try on real drums...

35 Tin Mine V4
35 Tin Mine V4I tried to explore something vaguely musical in 5/4 and this is the result. Went through many orchestrations before ending up with a fairly acoustic/60's feel. Basic drum pattern is a loop but I'm keen to overdub some real drums. I also have a very aggressive synth version but that's not ready...

25 Savanna Sunrise V2
25 Savanna Sunrise V2On a beautiful African morning the sun comes up and the World awakens. The day becomes white hot and then starts to fade. As the evening cools the sun goes gently down to set and all becomes still as night arrives...

24 Seascaping V3 JK Drums
24 Seascaping V3 JK DrumsSecond take of this track using me on drums - Roland V-Drum TD10K brain, MacPro running LogicPro 9 and BDF ECO drum sampler. The idea was to see if the sampler would cut it as an acoustic kit - and me as a drummer! I basically learnt all of the individual loops and played them in as replacements for the originals. Balance is a bit drums and bass heavy, but it was fun playing along to an old composition...

19 Magnolia
19 MagnoliaCould this be a romantic reference to a tree? No, I wrote this tune whilst staring at 4 walls in the villa down in Widemouth Bay, on holiday! It features some acoustic guitars and an upright bass. The very subtle drums were not quite subtle enough - so I nuked them on the final mixdown. Added more acoustics to make it sound a bit more live. Peaceful and simple - just like me...

15 Shish Kebab v3 Early Remix
15 Shish Kebab v3 Early RemixSo what do you do on holiday? Have a few drinks, eat lots, sit in the sun, sleeeep as much as you physically can. Then write a tune about what you ate last night! Not so much Eastern promise as Western dismay! Warning! It goes on a bit.

16 Vegas Return Early Remix
16 Vegas Return Early RemixWrote this on the VS44 back from Vegas a year ago, with a £19 keyboard and a MacBook Air. Must have annoyed the hell out of the lady next to me... Not exactly finished, hence the title :)

12 Restless Rain Revisited
12 Restless Rain RevisitedVery peaceful track, more acoustic than the others and reflective. It suggests rain blowing on the window, constantly changing direction with the wind. I have reworked it over Christmas to include brass section in 3rd verse and legato double-basses plus an extra octave on the strings in the bridge sections 2 and 3. Original also had timing problems, which are now fixed. I was fairly new to Logic the first time around. Do comment...
