Skylark & The Oak (feat. Frances Sladen) [Radio Edit]
Skylark & The Oak (feat. Frances Sladen) [Radio Edit]Josh was adamant this WASN'T a love song when he first played it to Frances in Uni halls of residence. The pair got married last August. We'll leave it to you to decide if it's a love song or not... Music video: https://youtu.be/MYHBJHy9DF8 Track title: Skylark & The Oak Artist: Joshua Burnell (feat. Frances Sladen) Label: (unsigned) Release Date: 31st May 2019 Publisher: Wipeout Music “Joshua Burnell is fast becoming one of the rising young voices on the British folk scene” - Morning Star (2019) “Lots of musical echoes and just-out-of-sight distant memories that make it sound at once new and comfortably old” - Folk Radio (2019) Skylark & The Oak is a return to Joshua’s original songwriting and is influenced by storytelling and folklore. The story deals with the distinction between romantic love and the love found in friendship. Joshua is joined on vocals by singer Frances Sladen, who also appears in the line-up for the live act. The duo have been singing the song since they first sang together and it has become a staple in the live setlist.
