I'm looking to form a band with the aim of getting together maybe once a week to play for fun. Would like to do mostly original music but a few covers would be fun too and maybe just some jamming.
Open to doing the odd gig but not really interested in touring (been there, done that). Would like to use this band for recording though but I'm happy to fund that.

Its Why You Moved Out
Its Why You Moved OutRecorded and mixed by Luke Oldfield at Tilehouse Studios - July 2015. Guitar, Bass, Vocals: Jon Bretman Drums, Piano, Organ, Backing Vocals: Pat Kenneally Look at all those pebble-dash houses Two cars parked on the crazy paving Satellite dishes all aligning To the west, where we get the best signals I filled out in all the right places Soon be a man I can feel things changing All those years that I was waiting To get out, and make my own mistakes Don't let them get you down It'll always feel the same It's why you moved out You gotta go your own way You must not be from around here Let me explain so that it is clear We don't need any of your ideas We've done alright, without you all this time Young love in abandoned cars So easy to go too far At least it's all over so fast Who said, good things had to last? Don't let them get you down It'll always be the same It's why you moved out You gotta go your own way Persian rugs on the walls Old photos of the war These eminent hipsters got it all Before you know what you want It will be delivered to your door These eminent hipsters do it all Don't let them get you down It'll always be the same It's why you moved out You gotta go your own way
Some Other Night
Some Other NightRecorded and mixed by Luke Oldfield at Tilehouse Studios - July 2015. Guitar, Bass, Vocals: Jon Bretman Drums, Piano, Organ: Pat Kenneally She takes out a notebook In it are the names of everyone who's ever done her wrong She crosses one name out and adds another three I lean over her shoulder, to see if she's got it in for me It's just out of reach She orders a G&T When it arrives she throws it my way and gets herself a double single malt whiskey Well I'm more than a little intimidated But I try to keep my cool Have you ever seen New York City in the winter In must be like looking into a mirror I still have no idea what I meant Can you tell me something? How am I doing? Is my wit and charm enough to win you over? What is your favourite film? I'm not surprised when you say you don't own a TV But you once went to a private screening of Annie Hall You've got every trait I miss from a previous love Along with all of their flaws Oh baby please let me be yours I know that you'll leave as soon as you get bored in a few weeks I've been known to drink too much Been told that I roll my eyes when I feel the need to learn you something I'm trying to be the best version of myself As we exchange stories from our youth We both choose to dilute the truth Each trying not to let the other one through Why don't we give it a go? It's not like we've got anything to lose Can you tell me something? How are you doing? Is the loneliness enough to see this through? Can you tell me something? What the hell are we doing? We kiss goodbye only to be polite and then it's over Later on when I'm at home Staring at the ceiling wondering if I will die alone Without thinking I tap some lies into my phone I hope you got home alright I had a really good time Maybe we should do it again Some other night
Hanover SquareRecorded and mixed by Luke Oldfield at Tilehouse Studios July 2015 Guitars, Bass, Vocals: Jon Bretman Drums, Backing Vocals: Pat Keneally Rhodes, Piano: John Dennis Backing Vocals: Luke Oldfield Pour two fingers out And then another two to wash them down The same five songs going around She said I'll meet you just tell me where Lets meet on Hanover Square Giving up so easily It's not as easy as you'd think it would be You've really got to nail the look Just like the crowd around there Hanging around Hanover Square Where your dreams Turn into your worst nightmares On Hanover Square If you're bored with what you've got Head down to Mr. Lewis's shop He'll sell you whatever you want Just don't get lost in his stare Or he'll throw you out onto Hanover Square Hold on to that thought In case the worst happens and we get caught While abiding by the law Come see for yourself if you dare Where we made our stand on Hanover Square Where your dreams Turn into your worst nightmares On Hanover Square I'm ashamed of my electric sins I always have to be plugged in But as the screen grows dim I suddenly need to share What's happening now on Hanover Square The volunteer policeman sway In a perfect synchronised display By the Queen these stones were laid They sing as they prepare For the matinee on Hanover Square Where your dreams Turn into your worst nightmares On Hanover Square To tell you the truth, I've been hoping that the whole thing might come crashing down all over me It'll be over soon, then either way we'll know finally who really needs who A slip of the thumb, a few unfortunate words and all that hard work is undone To tell you the truth, I've been hoping that the whole thing might come crashing down all over me
