ABOUT

We are a 6 piece rock/pop/indie covers band (but currently down to 5) from Bromley and Banstead, we have only been together 2 years and have done 11 gigs so far in pubs, a wedding, golf club etc. We have also written 1 song so far and are working on 1 or 2 others. We are looking for someone who can perform 2 roles in the band: EITHER: A DRUMMER WHO CAN ALSO PLAY KEYS. OR: A DRUMMER WHO CAN ALSO COME OUT THE FRONT TO SING. So 2 of us would alternate between drums and the mic/or keys. This set up means that we would have 2-3 different singers which we feel makes us more interesting than the standard set up you normally get in pubs etc. We are a mixture of ages, mainly in our 50’s and 60’s, our female vocalist is 30. We’re a friendly bunch! We currently rehearse once a month due to work restrictions (but sometimes twice) and would like to make twice a month the norm if possible (some of us still work unfortunately!). We probably have been doing gigs once every 2 or 3 months on average so far. We are of different abilities, some have taken up their instrument just 2 years ago, some have been playing for years-but we are getting better all the time. We are all committed to practicing and rehearsing so we can be as good as we can possibly be, not forgetting that we wanna have fun! So we are looking for someone who is committed, reliable and easy going. We communicate often via WhatsApp so we need everyone to respond promptly on there so we can organise things efficiently. Most of the band live around the Bromley area (South London), I live in Banstead (Surrey) and one is in Horsham (Sussex). Although we have got paid for most of the gigs, we are not doing this for the money, we’re doing it for the fun of playing music and putting on a great show!

Influences

We are predominantly a covers band but have written one song and would like to write more. We like Rock, Indie, Pop, Punk generally but have an open mind when choosing songs and have a good mix of songs in our set lists. Here’s a few examples of songs we have done: Zombie, Should I stay or should I go, Love shack, These boots are made for walking, Too sweet, What’s up, Suffragette city, Highway to hell, Sweet Caroline, Teenage kicks, Dakota, Get it on, Smells like teen spirit, Baby one more time, Heroes, Pretty vacant, Sk8er boi. Benny and the jets. So as you can see, we like a wide range of stuff! We try to make our set lists interesting and fun, and not just do the all same songs that every other cover band does. Sometimes two of us sing together doing different verses, for example These boots are made for walking and Love Shack. We like to think we are a bit different with two rotating drummers and 2-3 different singers! The 11 gigs we’ve done so far have gone down really well with the audiences!

EQUIPMENT

As a band we have invested together in a Yamaha PA system, a digital mixer, mics etc etc. Then we have our own individual equipment like guitars, drums etc. You would be playing on my drums (I’m the other drummer!). I’ve got a Pearl reference kit with sabian and ziildjjian cymbals/hi-hats, it’s quite nice. So no worries there. The other guys have invested in good guitars etc.
