ABOUT

AMERICANA / ALT ROCK / EXPERIMENTAL
Guitarist/ singer based in Troon. Really looking to establish a wider collective of musicians with a core of regular band members. Drawn towards Americana with a punk/ alt rock influence, aiming to write fresh material, and to develop specific pieces according to whatever players are on board. Dead serious about the music, but want to make people feel mischievous and fired up. Watch this space, autumn 2023, changing the flavour a bit, will update soon, but really keen on finding different territory.

Influences

Alabama 3 are an obvious comparison, although not looking to clone them. Vaguely Americana, American versions of art-rock, beyond that, really, anything goes, no limits - there could be anything else in the mix, powerful and passionate. Punk and Grunge are a big influence, and I like 4AD stuff. Also like The Mummers, Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams, REM, Bowie, Eno, Fripp.

EQUIPMENT

Japanese Tokai PRS copy, JV-Squier strat, Fender Champion 100W combo speaker amp, 12W practice amp, effects. Own a cheap-ish Cort bass, not serious as a bass player. Recently bought a Xaphoon - amazing thing, lot of fun.
