ABOUT

im a passionate yet eager drummer always looking to enhance my ability and performance to the highest level- ive been very lucky to have musicians of ultimate experience and have always given myself and others keen to better their ability an knowledge of not only their instrument but why its KEY to be a musician for the song not a musician for their own presence-i always keep the context of my playing to the song its KEY for myself to appreciate others in band- there's always time for a drummer to be drummer LOL
Personally i prefer to keep it simple but told by many your feel is UNIQUE- i must admit i not to sure how that resembles my drumming- but capable of playing fills or if i must do a solo LOL- But importantly less is more and is an art -i been through stages of thinking its me and only me in a band (i started gigging pubs at 14yrs old) so ive been also appreciative of gaining knowledge and reasons why it matters to whatever the subject maybe- DRUMMING IS MY PASSION-MY LOVE-AND WANT TO YET ADVANCE MY ABILITY TO THEN HELP THE YOUNGSTERS OR MUSICIANS OF TOMORROW- i have a business plan in place to pay forward what i so greatly appreciate from the local and far and wide talent that is on our door step it excites me...J.P.Hinder

Influences

Tico the hitman Torres since 1992- john bonham since i can remember...My dad who recently passed away who was also a drummer locally but watching him try and thinking i want to do that-But BETTER- and luckily had a tutor who was touring with the STORYS-(steve Balsamo lead vocals) is an amazing dude - cool laid back but yet has the gift of transferring what may seem complicated so much easier to understand and therefor able to gain to the next stage of playing- steve gadd is an amazing cool laid back jazz/free style player who i find eric clapton is fortunate to have on board as his touring drummer...Nigel olsen (Elton John) EXTREMELY outstanding at keeping it simple and vocally able to multitask to keep the Queen of the Band (LOL) SUFFICIENTLY HAPPY-lol...massive fan of elton and nigels solo projects....Karl Brazil who i met a number of times -He does not have ability to read music but makes up for that in his approach and playing-good guy n fortunate to keep in contact....Ben stone (Tom Jones-Mike n the Mechanics) local lad and amazingly helpful n keen to pass on whatever he can to approve and motivate the future of music locally(priceless) Ralph Salmins (van Morrinson -and excellent session drummer) also know him from numerous meetings... And of course i got to say Ringo Star- why????? Well without him they wont have been Beatles(pete Best maybe the all round better one originally) But RINGO'S ability to not keep time and not do the same recording twice LOL- made the off-beat in many tracks probably better than Mcartney famously Quoting hes not even the best drummer in the band- but i believe his attitude and resilience to try over shadows the prior quote by Mr P Mcartney - well overdue to retire now in my opinion...But i am my biggest fan if honest as performing each show is a new challenge to better the last- now that is passion and love for the intrument- Many more indeed.....

also have a yamaha stage custom-15 YRS OLD- sounds bloody amazing-
evans heads along with remo
pro mark sticks but lately trying an adapting 2 ahead sticks and gloves as it takes the strain and receipts a lot of the strain the wrists can implicate but yet how you approach the strokes and technique can make hell of a difference....practice = BETTER BUT PERFECTION IS MY DREAM BUT each gig i play local or away is the next an important test for me..
