Guitarist wanted to form mainly ‘unplugged’-style band
Any further abilities with song-writing, singing, production or other instruments would be a bonus but inessential.
I am a singer-songwriter in my early thirties based in Highworth, Swindon. My vision has to been to want a band that is often acoustic and unplugged but sometimes with the electric guitar for certain songs. I want there to be harmonies with vocals for certain songs with 2, 3 or 4 peoples' voices - probably all male or maybe one female singer. Piano, light drums and harmonicas would be nice bonuses too for certain songs.
I have a mainly North American folky influence (Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Leonard Cohen, CSNY, Neil Young) I also have a grungy taste too and really like what Alice in Chains and Nirvana did with their mtv unplugged sessions. My strength is songwriting and I don't feel the need to have to perform in every song and am quite happy to take a backseat if it seems better without me for a particular song, even if it is one I have written.
Whilst also having a lot of fun I would like people who want to seriously pursue something and can dedicate time to the project. Please let me know about your experience/ability and provide or direct me to a sample of your playing. At this stage before anything else it would be nice to meet someone like-minded, exchange ideas and play some music together, and hopefully form a friendship.
