Virginia Brown and the Shameless
Direct from Sicily
1st UK Show

“Virginia Brown and The Shameless, is an absolutely amazing Sicilian band, that blended Afro-Cuban rhythms with Rhythm and Blues!

A burst of energy that blows up the ballrooms to time of rhumba, mambo, stroll and boogie, in a word, the New Orleans Rhythm and Blues sound.

With the roaring voice, the boogie piano, the jumping guitar, the slapping bass, the driving drums and the honking sax, they bring back to life the authentic sound of Clarence Garlow, Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis, Dave Bartholomew, Lee Allen, Prof. Longhair.”

Plus djs Miss Aloha and the Reverend boogie will ensure that you have an unforgettable night out with music, dancing, glamour and of course exotic cocktails, in the superbly kitsch surroundings of the South London Pacific bar.

Dynamic Jamie Rowan will be * “rocking the box” at Jump Jive and Shout this month. Always a favourite at Jump Jive and Shout; the show features the rich, mellow voice of Sally Wiltshire and of course the flamboyant, exhilarating boogie woogie, rock and roll and rhythm and blues singing and piano playing of Jamie Rowan. Jamie Rowan tours and performs all over the world, has appeared on radio and television and recorded with some of the best in the business including Otis grand. Jamie Rowan now performs with great UK rock n rollers The Stargazers, and you have not lived until you hear the Sticks McGhee classic “Drinking wine spo-dee-oh dee given the Jamie Rowan treatment. We just love it when Jamie Rowan takes to the stage. A great way to spend your Saturday night.

Excellent London based band The Devout Sceptics making a welcome return to Jump Jive and Shout. The Devout Sceptics have stormed Bestival, they are stylish, and bass player Ian Fuller continues to write great songs. As well as being good to watch they perform extremely well because they enjoy what they do and have amazing chemistry. Look forward to original material from this stylish London outfit, whose songs fuse country, Americana, blues and rockabilly and features the charming lead vocalist Collette Winter with the country twang in her voice and the raw emotion of some of the great rockabilly queens like Wanda Jackson and Janice Martin.
