Band to Join, Piano, Lead Guitar, Drums, Bass Guitar.

From a solid grounding in jazz, saxophonist, composer and producer Jason Turner is just as happy to find himself on stage or in the studio with a Bollywood film music band, a Rembetika singer or a DJ spinning funk, techno, house or pretty much anything else.

All of which he's done a fair bit. Which is why, happy to have had the opportunity to look inside so many boxes, he's now busy thinking outside them.

This will become apparent as you listen to his latest major project, Look Up, a saxophone and noise/electronics CD due for release in the spring of 2013. Inspired mainly by glitch, musique concrète and the concepts of generative composition, but with more than a passing nod to jazz tradition, the music is about the changing atmospheres of sound - the tone of the saxophone, the textures alongside it, and the silences inbetween.
