I play bass and I've set up a new mod based project with a lead guitarist. We're primarily looking for a rhythm guitarist,drummer,keys/piano/synth player and potentially a singer. But we want to find new sounds and we reckon these days to get anywhere you've gotta be diverse. Meaning it's all well and good being a rock and roll band but if every song sounds like an oasis rip off you're not going to get anywhere. We want to experiment with different genres and styles like soul,jazz, funk, classic blues etc just to find some cool new sounds. We're both 18 and 20,from west Lothian and both have experience of being in active bands. We also both have writing ability with our instruments and have a stack of material to work on between us. That doesn't mean that you can't come with a song for us to build on, we want everyone to be equal and have as much room to write as each other. I also have contacts to a local label that we can 100% sign to as record with, plus photographers, promoters, venues, all that sort of stuff so we'll be on a good track. Paul Weller's solo material, the jam, the who, the beatles, the kinks, the faces and small faces. Also modern bands like tame impala, kasabian, the charlatans, Ocean colour scene, the bluetones, noel Gallagher. Aswell as musicians like James brown, the supremes, booker t and the MG's, elvis, dobbie Gray, muddy waters, Robert Johnson. Also all sorts of northern soul and Motown artists.
