Currently a student at UoL aged 19. Have played electric guitar (mainly lead, but am open to rhythm and chordy pieces) on and off for most of my teen years.. I have the basic equipment (cheap guitar, small amp and effects pedal) because money has always been an issue and have never had a reason to go out and buy top notch gear as I've been learning for the sake of learning rather than actually doing something with it. Self taught so musical theory isn't top notch, however am quick to learn and adapt. Dedicated, hard working and always looking for improvement. Preferably seeking other students due to common ground but not too fussed.
Don't have any recorded music to show but to give you an idea, can cover lead parts to songs like the trooper, pretty much most Blink 182 songs, can handle pop punk easily, learnt Stairway to Heaven through and through for a bet with my dad, most indie stuff I can handle as well and have recently been picking up the acoustic for some of The Cure's songs. Not experienced in writing music but can easily put together riffs, chord sequences and a few licks.
Only live experience I had was a guitar trio act at my Year 8 school talent show lol
Never had the chance of being in a band due to having a different musical taste to my mates and am from rural Derbyshire (not exactly a musical hotspot) so am looking for any experience where it's being given. Open to new ideas and up for a laugh too.
So, if anyone's reading looking for a guitarist to join a band or just to jam around hit me up, never done anything like this before so not too sure what to expect!

Influences
Have a hugely varied music taste from old school metal (Sabbath, Maiden, Judas Priest etc), some punk influences (NOFX, Bad Religion, Anti-Flag, Social Distortion, Slaves), more popular punk rock (Blink 182 first album to last, sum 41, Green day yada yada yada), modern metal (BFMV, Slipknot,Avenged Sevenfold), indie (stone roses, jaws, coasts, peace, arctic monkeys, pulp, the smiths) recently come into more alternative stuff like The Cure and Smashing pumpkins.
