Influences

Psychedelia, classic rock, krautrock, indie, motown, soul, electronica/ambient, prog, jazz, classical (esp. more avant-garde stuff eg. musique concrete). But these are all just labels, aren't they? Birdsong, the sound of the wind, or the waves...
To name but a few names: Boards of Canada, Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno, Debussy, Ravel, Moloko, Stereolab, Radiohead, Nick Drake, Beatles & Stones, The Who, Dylan and N.Young, Cohen, Mitchell, My Bloody Valentine, Air, Pixies, Yann Tiersen, Pulp, Supergrass, Genesis, Led Zep, Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens, Steve Reich, more recently and especially since the pandemic, all those wonderfully diverse but playlist tracks to be found on Spotify, Apple Music or BBC Sounds (especially meditative ones e.g. Night Tracks). Imagine this might all sound a bit random, but where to start or finish?

Members Of Band

James Drake
(I occasionally play and write together with a few friends sometimes too)

EQUIPMENT

Acoustic gear: Alhambra e-classical guitar, Gibson J-45, Gibson B-25 12-string ('64, yes!) Hawaiian style lap-steel, banjo, uke, etc.
Electric guitars: Fender Strat ('74), Epiphone Les Paul Special, Fender Telecaster Player II. If I had room for more, I would happily add to this collection.
Basses: Squire Jazz bass, Westone Thunder (entry level both, but adequate, ish..)
Keyboards: Roland (something), Yamaha CK61 (very synthy).
Recording gear: Logic Pro X & Ableton software. Various condenser & dynamic mics, guitar effects pedals inc. delays, not to mention a fantastic little ebow sustainer which I'd recommend to any aspiring guitarist, such as myself!
