ABOUT
I've been playing guitar in gigging bands since the nineties with experience in both originals and covers bands. I'm happier playing rhythm than lead, although the odd basic lead part here and there as well as riff based parts are not a problem.
I'm very committed and will provide a lot of enthusiasm for the right band. Now in my 40's I'm probably not right for a young band with dreams of world domination, but I'm also not ready for a quiet life, I want to find a band that has energy, passion and wants to put on regular gigs. I'm looking for a band with a singer in place that plays either covers, originals or a bit of both. I've been a song writer and vocalist in a gigging originals band before and can provide backing vocals although my vocal range is quite limited.
When it comes to covers I'm afraid classic rock and metal don't really float my boat, covers would need to to be along the lines of my influences (see below).

Influences
I'm heavily influenced by alternative rock music, starting out in the 80's with bands like The Cult, Killing Joke, The Ramones and then through the 90's and onward with Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Hole, Placebo, Green day, Blink 182 etc. Moving away from direct influences I tend to vier towards the more indie / pop side than metal, I enjoy music from a wide range of bands including Feeder, Sigur Ros, Mogwai, Jimmy Eat World, Weezer, Foo Fighters etc.
