I've never had a lesson in music apart from at college which I still study in 4 days a week, but before that I learnt everything by ear which is how I started playing in the first place by sitting behind a kit in year 7 I just started playing without ever having a lesson. I guess you can say it comes naturally. I still learn by ear and by watching tutorials on YouTube when it comes to guitar and bass, it's the same with drums but I can slightly read drum music. I can't read music at all... so if you're into that don't count on me being able to just show me how to play it, tabs or by ear. I don't take long.
