ABOUT

Hi my name is Jack Reed, I'm 21 and I've been singing my entire life, I'm looking to front a band - preferably a heavy one!

I've been in and out of rock and metal bands my entire teenage life and i'm looking for one I can really sink my teeth into. All my musician friends have moved away to uni whilst I decided to stay and study here.

I know there are a lot of guitarists around so if you need just a vocalist , I wouldn't mind being able just to jump about stage with a mic.

I really don't mind what kind of band you'd class yourself as - I'm just looking for something out there, heavy and committed. I'm also down for meeting some cool, like-minded people to kick out some jams with!

I'm free for practicing and gigging as much as possible if the gig, price and band is right. Just need to know in advance to get off work!

Influences

Vocally, my inspirations are; Phil Anselmo, Randy Blythe, Frank Black,Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, Josh Homme, George Fisher and Cedric Ramirez. I have been professionally voice coached for singing and screaming and have even been paid to teach others the art. My range is very wide and my voice can go from melodic to face meltingly brutal in seconds. I also pride myself on working up a crowd and putting them in the palm of my hand. I also have a talent for writing lyrics and songs along with the band and have my own mic and amplification (and some good ((free)) places to practice if needed). I also have a car.

Guitarwise I draw my inspiration from Dimebag Darrel, Slash, Mastodon, QOTSA, Darkthrone, Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Obscura, Red Fang and many more. I play a wide range from death metal to blues and everything in between. I have a good knowledge of song craft, harmonizing and both lead and rhythm guitar, however if you're looking for a classically trained and polished fret *worker I'm afraid I may disappoint (although I have had classical tutoring). My style is rough and ready, with driving grooves and bluesy yet metal leads. Perfection is not my middle name but keenness and quick learning are.
