I’m Hywel (or Rob as some people prefer to call me), a guitarist with around 20 years of playing experience and a background in piano up to Grade 8 standard. Guitar is my main passion, and I’m now looking to join a band to play, create, and see where things go. I’m committed, reliable, and easy to get along with — mainly in it for the enjoyment and collaboration, but always keen to progress and make good music.

Influences
My playing’s shaped by a mix of blues and rock icons like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer, Bob Dylan, and Mark Knopfler — musicians who taught me feel, phrasing, and storytelling through tone. Lately though, I’ve been leaning toward a more contemporary punk sound, drawing big inspiration from bands like Paramore, Machine Gun Kelly, Blink-182, and All Time Low. I love the energy, emotion, and raw honesty in that style and I’m keen to bring that into whatever I play next.
