I'm 50 years old and looking to form an acoustic duo or join a band playing covers and in developing my own compositions or writing with a partner. Open to all kinds of musical genres but my heart is in acoustic music really. I have a decent voice but don't have the range to deal with classic rock stuff, I tend to perform at my local acoustic night singing stuff by Bowie, The Beatles, Radiohead, Noel Gallagher and a whole host of others. I would like to get a set together and go out giging again, a sort of 'Last Chance Saloon' if you like. I played the pubs and clubs around Skelmersdale and Wigan 20 to 25 years ago but have largely been abedroom player since. My recent forray into acoustic jam/open mic nights is my first step towards gigging again. Looking for any musicians really, vocalists, guitarists, bass players, keyboard guys...whatever. I'm open to any suggestions and never reject a song because of its genre. That's the most important thing to me, the song. Influences
I have a hugely varied number of influences from The Beatles, The stones, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkel, James Taylor and Leonard Cohen in the 60s and 70s through to The Jam, Aztec Camera, Roddy Frame, Radiohead, Oasis, Noel Gallagher and loads and loads of others. My great musical loves are Led Zeppelin and David Bowie for the fantastically eclectic collection of music they have provided over the years. I have a very varied taste in music and in terms of playing, I won't turn my nose up at a song just because it isn't from a certain genre.
EQUIPMENT
I don't have any electric guitars and amplifiers anymore. I now just rely on my rather splendid Freshman electro-acoustic to make music with. I don't have a PA or microphones but am more than willing to put towards these from any gig money 'we' might make.
