ABOUT

Hole Tripper the gloriously unfashionable rock band need a new drummer as our old one is having his second kid and can no longer commit to the band.

Please drop us a line if all of the following apply:

• Gigs – you only want to play decent venues. We have gigs booked for The Louisiana, Cavern in Exeter and we are very proud to make the billing for Festival on the Hills in Honiton this year. We are starting to get some traction with smaller promoters in Bristol and have ambitions for significantly more ….
• Influences - You love bands like Rage, Reef, Audioslave, Pearl Jam, Bush, Led Zep, Alice in Chains etc.
• Music - You would love to play our music – www.holetripper. We will play a couple of covers (currently Man in the Box & Killing in the Name) for festivals & other events that need to pull in a crowd but otherwise we play our own tunes. The back catalogue has a fair spread of acoustic material, but our live set focuses upon the heavier tracks and we play live a whole bunch of currently unreleased material. Click here to see what we sound like live from our last gig at The Louisiana in Bristol.
• Purpose - You play to have fun first and foremost but if you’re doing something then you give it your all and want it to be as great as it can be. Our goal is a million-plus streams and only gig at decent places – no open mics or sh*tty pubs.
• Commitment - You can commit to 1 band practice once a week (almost always on a Thursday between 6pm to 8pm) and around 6 to 10 gigs a year.
• Playing Standard - You operate at a high level because, we want to be surrounded with musicians who know what they are doing.
• Location - You live in the Exeter or Bristol area or close to the M5 corridor (or are very cool with travel). Our objective is to concentrate gigging in Bristol venues and festivals anywhere in the South of England or Wales. We practice weekly at Tazma Studios in Exeter. The singer lives in Bristol and drives down so lift sharing down the M5 is an option for practices. The current band all have wives, lives and kids and however un-rock it is we are family first – band second if there is a crisis on the home front – every time - except maybe when we conquer Glasto! haha
• Extras - An added bonus would be an interest in helping run some of the general band tasks and releases but this is not a requirement if not interested in this stuff just be nice to share a bit of the load….. We have an objective to be the best band to work with in the South West – in our experience so far, bands just seem to expect everything to happen for them – we know you have to work and provide value to get anything back.

Please don’t bother if the following apply:

• You are meh about alt-rock music.
• You can’t be bothered to learn the songs before rehearsals.
• You are a knob-head.
• You want to be in a band that practices and plays 5 times a week – unfortunately that ship has sailed so we need band members to work smart not long hours.
• You want to go on long tours.
• You need to make a career out of this or expect to get paid every time to play a gig – we will probably just play for free anyway.
