ABOUT

Hi I'm Hannah! I am looking start a new band, I am a seasoned singer (professional prior to Covid, mostly a street perfomer) and would love to perform music that makes people dance and feel something. A lot of my solo stuff is slow and makes people cry, I'd love to be in a band that does the opposite (makes people dance and sing!)

I think it would be great to start with something fun but it would be fab to be able to progress to gigs and paid events. I am a singer first and foremost with a decent level of rythm guitar and some keys knowledge (mostly played to accompany myself). I would love to form a band with a deep love of harmonies, story-telling through music and one that seeks to lift people's spirits. Music has always been a key part of my life and I would love to improve my musicality and make some brilliant musical friends.

Influences

I have many varied musical inspirations, my favourite artists are Kate Bush and Prince, for their mastery of the theatrical, musical experimentation and vocal talents. I sing light opera and musical theatre and so have a keen classical influence to my voice, but that doesn't stop me from having a soulful voice - I enjoy the OTT nature of the music and performance (a similar reason why I love Bush). I am also heavily inspired by Country and Western and Folk bands - the harmonies and fun nature, as well as often deep story-telling in the music seems to move my soul.

I would be interested in cover music as well as trying to write our own. I am a good lyricist with an idea for melodies but I think the best music is make collaboratively.
