ABOUT

Okay; am I the only metalhead in his / her 50s in the whole of West Scotland seeking to form a butt kicking metal band with thrash, hardcore, classic, symphonic, industrial & punk influences (and maybe the odd bit of funky rap metal even), who wants to go full time pro? Hope not!

Experienced lead vocalist & songwriter (also play a bit of rough assed rhythm guitar), moved to Scotland 3 years ago from Manchester (and did many years there in several bands on the local pub & club circuit as well as playing some larger scale festivals & biker rallies), looking to create an absolute beast in the Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Helensburgh & Lomond areas.

Ideally seeking to form a five or six piece with 2 guitars, and maybe also some keyboards & sound effects ... think chugging thrashy guitar riffs, downtuned distorted basslines, apocalyptic drum beats, some industrial, symphonic sounds & choral harmonics - maybe even the odd fiddle & bagpipes! (Hence the need for musicians who are not scared to experiment with different sounds), to create something that's fast, hard & loud with plenty of brutal raw power (and blatantly rebellious punk influenced lyrics that don't shy away from having a dig at the state of the world), yet also melodic, harmonic, memorable AND different. Basically big tunes, big songs, and big uncompromising lyrics.

I have a wide range of influences, and it's not easy to describe what I have in my head - but imagine Anthrax, Nuclear Assault & early Metallica meeting Hatebreed, Trivium & The Hope Conspiracy; then meeting RATM & Body Count; then Xandria, Majestica & Therion - THEN Rammstein, Ministry & Killing Joke .... and then a final touch of Motorhead, Black Sabbath & Dio for old time's sake. Insanely ambitious? Maybe, but why the hell not?

So looking for like minded talented musicians who refuse to give up on their dreams just because of their age and want to go the distance ... people of similar age group, 40 + would be great so I don't end up feeling like the band 'Daddy' - but not an absolute requirement - ability & either stage experience or willingness to gain it is more important than age. Any gender, ethnicity or background is similarly welcome.

I also firmly believe that rebellious protest songs & lyrics do NOT have to be at odds with able musicianship, the desire to put on a good show - and with having some fun & laughs! I have at least one album's worth of songs written - probably more (with input from other band members, that could feasibly be stretched to three), just need the right people to bring the monster to life!
