Influences
I have a habit of paying attention to things slightly too late, like realising someone has finished speaking a few seconds after they stop. Most days feel like that: a sequence of events that seem reasonable on their own but refuse to line up when I look back. People tell me I’m calm, which I think means I don’t react the way they expect, not that I don’t notice. I remember faces better than names, places better than reasons, and conversations mostly by what didn’t get said. Nothing dramatic ever happens, but the sense that something almost did tends to linger longer than it should.
